Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast by combining warm milk, a teaspoon of sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter, knead until smooth.
  3. Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into rolls.
  5. Place rolls on a greased baking sheet. Mix minced garlic with a tablespoon of melted butter and brush over rolls.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
