- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and salt, bringing to a boil.
- Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and nuts.
- Pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let sit for a few minutes to melt.
- Spread melted chocolate smoothly over the toffee and cool completely until hardened.

- For added flavor, sprinkle sea salt or festive sprinkles on top before cooling.
