Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; beat well.
- Gradually mix in the flour and salt until a smooth dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown around edges.
- Cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute vanilla with almond extract for a different flavor.
