Creamy mashed potatoes mixed with cheese, formed into puffs, and baked until golden and crispy for a delicious snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook potatoes in boiling water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
  2. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Form mashed potato mixture into small balls or puffs and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of each puff and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder or paprika to the mashed potatoes.
