Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for filling)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- Add remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the pecan filling by mixing chopped pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter.
- Roll out the dough into a large circle. Spread the pecan filling evenly over the dough.
- Cut into wedges and roll each wedge into a crescent shape. Place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with honey or icing.
Notes
- You can substitute chopped walnuts or almonds for pecans.
- Ensure the dough is adequately risen for fluffy rolls.
- For a sweeter touch, add a glaze after baking.
