Perfect for weeknight dinners or weekend gatherings, this recipe offers a quick and satisfying culinary journey into Asian-inspired flavors with a perfect balance of heat and sweetness.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting your chicken breasts or thighs into bite-sized pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure even browning when cooking.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  4. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce. Let cook for another 2 minutes to meld flavors. Add red pepper flakes if desired for extra heat.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds just before serving.
  • This dish tastes even better the next day as the flavors develop.
