  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 large russet potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the smoked sausage and dice the potatoes into even chunks. Lightly grease your baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook sausage slices until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  3. Add diced potatoes to the skillet, season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 10 minutes until golden and softened. Add potatoes to the dish with sausage.
  4. Mix ranch dressing, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese in a bowl. Pour evenly over the sausage and potatoes. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  5. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles. Optionally, broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy top. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a leaner option, substitute smoked sausage with chicken or turkey sausage.
  • You can prepare and assemble the dish ahead of time; refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Enhance flavor by adding vegetables like bell peppers or onions.
  • Use high-quality cheese and ranch dressing for best taste and texture.
