Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (8 oz) of croissants or croissant dough
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of whole milk or heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
- Fresh berries or whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Cut croissants into bite-sized pieces.
- Spread croissant pieces evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the croissants.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk or cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Pour over the croissant and chocolate layers, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and the custard is set. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate chips for richer flavor.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute with almond or coconut milk.
- Prepare the dish the night before to allow flavors to meld.
