- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- 8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 1/4 cup ketchup (low sugar)
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the bacon until crispy, crumble and set aside. Dice the onions. Season the ground meat with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in diced onions, ketchup, and mustard. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Layer the cooked meat mixture evenly in a baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, followed by crumbled bacon and pickles. Add extra cheese if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and melted. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
- Serve with a fresh green salad or roasted vegetables for a balanced meal.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Can be frozen for longer storage; reheat in microwave or oven.
