Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 4 pita breads or flatbreads
- 1 cup Greek feta cheese
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh tomatoes, sliced
- Red onion slices
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper to create the marinade. Rub this mixture over the chicken pieces.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked and browned. Alternatively, cook in an air fryer for crispiness.
- In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, and crumbled feta cheese. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
- Warm the pita breads. Slice the cooked chicken into strips. Spread feta tzatziki on each pita, then add chicken, sliced tomatoes, onions, and parsley. Wrap tightly and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon or a dash of vinegar to the marinade.
- Use fresh herbs in the tzatziki for enhanced flavor and freshness.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with grilled vegetables or falafel.
- Toast or grill pita bread for a crispy texture before assembling.
