Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it.
- Cook ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic in a large skillet until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess grease and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix until smooth.
- Add cooked beef mixture into the creamy base and stir to combine. Spread evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer. Optional: sprinkle additional paprika over the tater tots.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. About 5 minutes before baking ends, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and allow it to melt.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Add vegetables like bell peppers or corn for extra nutrition and flavor.
- Spice it up with diced jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
