  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it.
  2. Cook ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic in a large skillet until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add cooked beef mixture into the creamy base and stir to combine. Spread evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer. Optional: sprinkle additional paprika over the tater tots.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. About 5 minutes before baking ends, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and allow it to melt.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or corn for extra nutrition and flavor.
