Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder for heat
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes thoroughly. Slice them into evenly sized strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick using a sharp knife or veggie prep tool.
- Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then add salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and optional chili powder.
- Toss everything together until the fries are evenly coated with oil and seasonings.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the fries in a single layer on a lined baking sheet or baking rack for extra crispiness, leaving space between each piece.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve immediately with your favorite dip.
Notes
- For extra crunch, ensure fries are evenly spaced on the baking sheet.
- You can use a non-stick baking sheet or silicone liner for easier cleanup.
- Serve immediately for optimal crispiness; reheating in an air fryer helps restore crunch.
