  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
