Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Marshmallows (large, enough to cover the top)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and a pinch of salt. Mix until evenly coated. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking pan to form a crust.
- Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until golden and fragrant. Remove and let cool slightly.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the cooled crust. Gently press them down for better melting.
- Layer large marshmallows over the chocolate. Use a kitchen torch or broiler to toast the marshmallows if desired for authentic campfire flavor.
- Return to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes until marshmallows are golden and puffed. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Allow the bars to cool slightly before slicing into squares. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes for cleaner cuts. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate for richer flavor.
- If you prefer a crunchier crust, bake a few more minutes until golden.
- To make dairy-free, substitute dairy-free chocolate chips and vegan marshmallows.
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or caramel drizzle before serving.
