Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring water, unsalted butter, and sugar to a boil. Add vanilla extract and remove from heat.
- Stir in flour and salt quickly until a smooth dough forms. Let cool slightly.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated and dough is thick and smooth.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small bite-sized portions onto a lined baking sheet, spacing evenly.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Coat the warm baked churro bites in cinnamon sugar mixture.
Notes
- Ensure the oven is fully preheated for even baking.
- Use a star piping tip for authentic churro texture.
- Coat immediately after baking to maximize cinnamon sugar adherence.
- For extra flavor, drizzle with melted chocolate or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
